SPORTS : EOCO ordered to pay Ghana FA 50,000 Ghana cedis for damages

Court

An Accra High Court on Friday morning ruled that the Economic and Organized Crime Organization is to pay 50,000 Ghana cedis in damages to the Ghana FA for violating their rights and privacy during a swoop before the turn of the year.

The ruling comes five months after a lawsuit was filed by the GFA after the state’s anti-graft agency raided the secretariat in order to search for, identify and seize documents and equipment to facilitate investigations about the association.

The EOCO took away some computers for investigations.

The action was condemned by a cross-section of the Ghanaian public and the GFA after receiving its equipment from EOCO went to court to seek redress.
