"Government provides incentives for all industries with export potentials, except the music industry but does not seem to understand that music internationally is a multi-billion dollar business, and so, have not proposed any strategy towards development of the music industry",some Ghanaian musicians have expressed this concern.

Ras Appiah Levi, the leader of the MOPATOUR group,a musician and a representative of the concerned group expressed their concern in a statement.

"We therefore call on government to inject some resources into the arts industry so that Ghana and Africa can also reap its benefits" the statement emphasised.

He disclosed that to buttress their campaign to be recognised , they have decided to take this challenge on and so we have created “The Battle for Just This  Reason – “Promote Africa Music”.

This Battle of the Bands and Artistes is a series of activities including musical performances presented to new crowds internationally. Fans will get to meet new bands and artistes aside the ones they are know and are used to locally, in every new event.

This has to be a project that everyone participates in.

Ras Appiah Levi explained that throughout 2011 and beyond, different  battle events will be hosted  during the MOPATOUR GLOBAL CAMPAIGN.

There will be a Battle for each genre of music and the Grand Prize will always be cash. Any group or artistes that wins will use the money to develop their venture.

People in local business will be given the opportunity to engage and interact with bands and artistes or entertainment.

We will always keep communication with management groups and agents and put them in contact with artistes and bands, not loosing sight of the priority being music he said.
