ACCRA: Hundreds protest against mobile telecom operators

Hundreds of dissatisfied mobile phone users on Thursday thronged the Kwame Nkrumah circle in Accra to protest against poor service by Telephone companies.
The demonstration organized by the Consumer Protection Agency, (CPA) is to demand a reliable cost-effective and value for money for consumers.
The protesters were dressed in T-shirts marched from Kwame Nkrumah circle through the principal streets of Accra to present a petition to the Minister of Communication.
The demonstrators were holding placards with inscriptions like ‘fake text promotion’, ‘we should be protected from mast hazards’, ‘too much out of coverage area’, among others.
There was a turnout of security personnel who ensured the safety and smooth running of the demonstration.
The leader of the CPA, Kofi Kapito presented a petition to the Deputy Minister of Communications, Mr. Gideon Quarcoo.
