Born on January 21, 1945 and comes from Jama-Techiman, Brong Ahafo Region and married .He holds  PhD (Zoology), University of Michigan,USA,which he obtained in 1976 .

He is an Educationist/Teacher and was the Director-General of GES, 1989-2001; Minister (at various Ministries) 2001-2008 before he became an MP. He is a christian(Catholic).

He obtained 14,307 votes out of the 26,783 valid votes cast =53.4% in the last elections and represents the New Patriotic party and a member of the minority in parliament.
