Hon. Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, Member of Parliament for Asawase was born on October 17^th, 1970 and hails from Kumbungu in the Northern Region.He is married with three children.

He obtained Msc. (Development Policy and Planning) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Hon. Mohammed Mubarak is a Development Planner and was working as the Head of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at Adwumapa Buyers Limited, a Cocoa Buying firm before he was elected into parliament in 2005.

He obtained 36,557 votes out of 64,443 valid votes cast = 56.7% in the last elections and represents the National Democratic Congress and a member of the majority in parliament.
