Ghana is fifty years old after independence from colonial rule. As a nation we have had our ups and downs. This period was characterized by political upheavals and economic trials. Fortunately, for the past decade, we have experienced stability; however fragile it may appear, it is something to be proud of, thus the need to protect our fragile democracy with all the vigour it deserves.
The Kwaebibirem District has contributed immensely in bringing the nation this far. It is my privilege to formally welcome you to the District which is endowed with both natural and human resources. It boasts of arable land for the cultivation of cash crops like oil palm and citrus as well as food crops like plantain, cassava, cocoyam among others.
The District has been selected for the Presidential Special Initiative (PSI) on oil palm. For this reason I am calling on all interested parties especially in agro processing field to come and invest in the sector. The district pledges its full support for such firms and companies.
Mineral deposits such as diamond, gold, bauxite and clay also exist in the district. These minerals are often exported with a little fraction for processing. I am therefore using this medium to advertise the mineral deposits in the district to interested companies especially in the Jewellery industry to come in with proposals and other essentials for processing of these raw materials.
Thank you and welcome!
Hon. Yaw Yiadom Boakye (DCE)
