Cape Coast To Host 2006 People's Assembly

The event, which is the first to be held outside Accra, since its inception five years ago, is slated for Tuesday January 10, at the Victoria Park.

Speaking at a press briefing in Cape Coast, the Deputy Central Regional Minister, Nana Ato Arthur, said the Regional Coordinating Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Information was "working hard" to ensure the success of the programme and called on the public to give it the needed support and patronage.

He thanked the president for selecting the region to host the programme and called on the people in the region to show their appreciation by comporting themselves during the programme.

He advised the public to ask "intelligent and useful questions" and not only shower praises on the government, and cautioned that those, who would want to use the occasion to cause trouble would be dealt with. [2006-01-04 00:00:00]
