Production And Gainful Employment
The district strategy to improve production and gainful employment sought to create an enabling environment for the private sector led agriculture and state infrastructure development to stimulate local growth.  In spite of the challenges faced during the implementation of the plan 2002-2005. Some modest achievement had been recorded particularly in the area of economic infrastructure, improvement of access to credit facilities to the private sector and sustained environmental protection through reforestation programmes.

Road Infrastructure
Considerable improvement in engineered feeder roads have been made thus reducing risk on the road and post harvest loss due to the hitherto bad nature of our roads. As a result of major investment in the road sector the road condition had improved over the 2002 situation.  Even though one cannot denied the remarkable improvement in the road situation it is also important to remarked that the type of maintenance usually done on the roads end up aggravating the existing porous condition of the roads. Most of the practices include the reshaping without proper drains. During the period under review, 127.70 Km of gravel roads; 54.2Km of earth roads and 6.1 Km of bitumen roads have been improved upon.
