Potable water, which is one of the basic necessities of life, is a problem in terms of quality and quantity as much as 55.7% of the population does not have access to potable water compared to the nation’s figure of 57%. The table 6 below shows the water situation in the district.
Energy Supply Energy (electricity supply) in the district is evenly distributed with over 80% of the settlements in the district connected to the national electricity grid. The single phase system makes electricity supply quite unreliable and unfavorable for industrial development. About 95% of the districts population depends on fuel wood for domestic purposes and these results into forest degradation. Refer to table 6 in pdf file below.
