A study of the Wassa Amenfi East District reveals that there are some factors that militate against the development of the district but since the rest of the country cannot develop without a corresponding development of this district such constraints and challenges have to be analyzed for appropriate remedies to be found .

In spite of the problems, constraints and challenges outlined above, considerable potentials and opportunities and prospects exist for the development of the district’s economy.

Potentials constitute the advantages and resources which are within the control of the district. Among the areas the Assembly would readily like to collaborate with its development partners include;Bamboo processing into furniture and cassave production and processing for industrial starch.

It is the hope of the district to develop five more tourist sites to promote employment, growth and development. These tourist sites include the Lake at Broso, The Sacred Stones at Aserewadi Forest and the Water Falls at Akwadaakrom.
