Members of the Wa West District Assembly in the Upper West Region yesterday confirmed President John Atta Mills nominee, Mr Dasaana N.S. Adamu as the District Chief Executive.

The Upper East Regional Directorate of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Friday received 500 treated mosquito bed nets to be distributed to pregnant women and children under 5 years.

In pursuit of the “Better Ghana” agenda, education is largely receiving attention in the Wa West District to consolidate the foundation of development in the area.

In the light of the agenda set by the government in developing the Northern sector of the country, the government is extending electricity to 400 communities in the Upper West Region, under the Rural Electrification Project.

As part of measures to create social leverage for the people of the Northern Region, and offer the required social infrastructure , the Government in collaboration with the Wa West District Assembly has embarked on a Rural Electrification Project in the district.
