Binduri District with its Administrative capital Binduri was carved from Bawku Municipal and forms part of the new districts and municipalities created in the year 2012 and were inaugurated at their various locations simultaneously on the 28th June, 2012. The District forms part of Thirteen (13) Municipal and Districts in the Upper East Region .The President H.E. J.E.A Mills, by an Executive Instrument (E.I) created 46 new Districts. All the inaugurated and confirmed MMDAs established are operational with immediate effect hence bringing the total number of MMDAs to 216. The District shares Boundaries with Bawku Municipal to the North ,Garu-Tempane to the South and East respectively and Bawku West District to the West
School children in about twenty one basic schools in the Binduri district will now enjoy being fed with some meals in school, following a move by the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Noah Ben Azure to increase the number of beneficiary schools on the School Feeding Programme.
The Binduri District Assembly in consultation with the District Health Directorate has keenly taken onboard the implementation of two major health infrastructure projects intended to help boost the health system of the area.
Obrempong Kwesi Amo Kyeretwie, chief of New Abirem, has donated 3,000 blocks, 2,500 bags of cement and 15 trucks of sand and stones for the construction of a fence wall around the New Abirem District hospital.
