Binduri District with its Administrative capital Binduri was carved from Bawku Municipal and forms part of the new districts and municipalities created in the year 2012 and were inaugurated at their various locations simultaneously on the 28th June, 2012. The District forms part of Thirteen (13) Municipal and Districts in the Upper East Region .The President H.E. J.E.A Mills, by an Executive Instrument (E.I) created 46 new Districts. All the inaugurated and confirmed MMDAs established are operational with immediate effect hence bringing the total number of MMDAs to 216. The District shares Boundaries with Bawku Municipal to the North ,Garu-Tempane to the South and East respectively and Bawku West District to the West
The Chief Executive officer for Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), Mrs. Sheila Naah Boamah has assured that more tertiary students in the Binduri District may benefit enormously from the fund if discussion between her office and the assembly ends successfully.
The District Chief Executive for the Binduri district, one of the emerging districts within the Bawku enclaves in the Upper East region, Daniel Adoliba Akologo has underscored the need for government to focus on building the capacity of the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in promoting private public initiatives across board.
School children in about twenty one basic schools in the Binduri district will now enjoy being fed with some meals in school, following a move by the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Noah Ben Azure to increase the number of beneficiary schools on the School Feeding Programme.
