Bulisa North District is one of the Thirteen (13) Districts and Municipals in the Region. The District is located in the north-eastern section of the Upper East Region Sandema is the District Administrative capital.
It is bordered to the north by the Kessena nankana west district, to the east by the Sssala East District, to the west By Kessena Nankana East District and to the south by Builsa South District.
Significantly, two tributaries of the Volta River namely the White Volta and the Red Volta run contiguous to the districts eastern and western boundaries respectively. There is a strong relationship between the geology and the relief of the district
Mr. Bonaventure Adangabey, the District Chief Executive for Builsa North, has appealed to people in the district to take the national sanitation seriously especially in the wake of the outbreaks of cholera in some parts of the country.
The Builsa North District Assembly in the Upper East Region has programmed in its Annual Water and Sanitation plan for the year 2015/2016 to provide more communities and institutions with latrines to promote health of the people in the communities and in the schools.
