Bulisa North District is one of the Thirteen (13) Districts and Municipals in the Region. The District is located in the north-eastern section of the Upper East Region Sandema is the District Administrative capital.
It is bordered to the north by the Kessena nankana west district, to the east by the Sssala East District, to the west By Kessena Nankana East District and to the south by Builsa South District.
Significantly, two tributaries of the Volta River namely the White Volta and the Red Volta run contiguous to the districts eastern and western boundaries respectively. There is a strong relationship between the geology and the relief of the district
A five member team is formed and tasked to ensure that only operators with requisite licenses are allowed to engage in the sale of “akpeteshie”, a locally brewed alcohol in all towns and communities of the Builsa North district.
The Women and Child Survival Sub-Committee of the Builsa North District Assembly has brought to the fore for consideration by the assembly on how best the Sandema District Hospital could address non-feeding issues of patients in the hospital.
Two second cycle institutions in the Builsa North District have been selected under the Government Secondary Education Improvement Project (GSEIP) as part of efforts to help improve secondary education in the area.
The Builsa North District Assembly, in the Upper East Region, is making provisions to construct two separate Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound for Yikpieng and Chiok No. 1 communities.
