Bawku Municipality with its Administrative capital at Bawku is one of the thirteen (13) districts and municipalities in the Upper East Region of Ghana. It is located approximately between latitudes 11o 111 and 100 401 North and longitude 0o 181w and 0o 61 E in the north-eastern corner of the region. The Municipality share boundaries with Pusiga District to the North, Binduri District to the South, Garu-Tempane District to the East and to the West with Bawku West.
Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru, Upper East Regional Minister, has given the assurance that Government was determined to mobilize resources and provide the necessary leadership to ensure sustainable development.
Mr Cletus Avoka, Member of Parliament for the Zebila Constituency in the Upper East region has charged the Bawku West District Assembly to hold all the mandatory meetings that the assembly ought to hold in a year.
Stakeholders at a regional forum organized by the Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC) in Bolgatanga has noted that the ban on motorbike riding in the Bawku Municipality was affecting health delivery systems in the area.
