Bolgatanga Municipal


The Bolgatanga Municipal is the home of the Upper East Regional capital. The Municipality forms part of the Thirteen (13) Districts and Municipals in the Region. This, of course, makes it the largest urban centre in the Region. 

The Municipality shares boundaries with Bongo District to the North, to the East with Nabdam District, to the South with Talensi District and to the West with Kassena Nankana East District.The Administrative capital  is Bolgatanga.

  • BOLGATANGA:Farmers to get support for dry season farming

    The Climate Change Adaptation in Northern Ghana Enhanced (CHANGE Project) implemented by Trade Aid Integrated, a Bolgatanga based non-governmental organization on Tuesday urged its beneficiary farmers to go into dry season farming as it had funds to support them.

  • BOLGA: ‘Integrate teaching practice to cover training of Teachers’

    Retired directors of education in the Upper East Region have suggested integration of teaching practice for teacher trainees within the three-year period of training and not after the training.

  • BOLGA:’Street naming is good for revenue mobilization’

    Mr Daniel Syme, Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, at the weekend described the street naming and property addressing project as key for revenue mobilization for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies.

  • BOLGA:Minister advocates multi-sectorial approach to health challenges

    Dr Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah, Minister of Health, addressed the Annual General Meeting of District Directors of Health in Bolgatanga, with a call for multi-sectorial approach to facilitate and improve health delivery in the country.
