Akatsi North District with its Administrative capital Ave Dakpa was curved from Akatsi District and forms part of the twenty five (25) Municipalities and Districts in the Volta Region of Ghana. The District shares boundaries with Akatsi South District to the south, to the north with Adaklu District, to the west with Central Tongu District and to the East with the Republic of Togo.
Strong revenue base of district assemblies is a sure way to tackling developmental challenges confronting communities in the various assemblies. As such, various assemblies continue to adopt strategies to increase funds towards their developmental plans.
As a new district, the Akatsi North District Assembly is confronted with accommodation difficulties especially for its workers and staff of other decentralized organizations, a situation that compelled an appreciable number of workers in the district to reside in nearby districts like Ketu North, Akatsi South and Agortime Ziope districts.
The Volta Regional (NADMO) Coordinator, Simon Miles Bakar has expressed worry about people’s refusal to adhere to simple advice from the organization for aimed at protecting their own lives and property.
