Agotime–Ziope Disrtict forms part of the twenty five (25) Municipalities and Districts in the Volta Region of Ghana. The Administrative capital of the District is Agotime Kpetoe. The District was established by legislative instrument (LI 2080) of Parliament in 2012 following the separation of the then Adaklu–Anyigbe. The District shares boundaries with the Republic of Togo to the East, Akatsi North District and Central Tongu District to the south and Adaklu District to the west and to the North with Ho Municipal.

Voice-Ghana, a Ho-based disability interest NGO, is prompting and preparing People With Disabilities (PWDs) in the Agotime-Ziope and Adaklu districts to vie for Unit Committee membership in the forthcoming local government elections.
The Agotime-Ziope District Assembly has entered into an agreement with a non-governmental organisation from the United States of America (USA), known as Pencils of Promise to construct six schools for deprived communities.
