Krachi West Dsitrict is located at the north-western corner of the Volta Region. It is bordered to the east by Nkwanta District and to the west by Kadjebi District.
The district capital is Kete-Krachi and other principal towns include Dambai, a commercial centre, and Chinderi. The district lies in between the northern part of the Volta Region’s central uplands, which are dominated by highlands. The entire district forms part of the Voltarian Basin.
Vice President John Dramani Mahama has called on chiefs in the Guan speaking communities to strengthen their local arbitration system to provide a suitable alternative for amicable settlement of disputes.
