Krachi West District is one of the twenty five (25) Municipalities and Districts in the Volta Region of Ghana. The District is located at the north-western corner of the Volta Region. The Administrative capital is Kete-Krachi . The District Shares boundaries with Krachi Nchumuru District to the North, to the east with Krachi East District, to the south and west with the Volta River.
The Director of radio at the state broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Dr. Affail Monney las lauded the Krachi West District Assembly for the immense support for the Kaakye FM, the GBC satellite station in the area.
Ehiamankyene, a community in the Krachi West District marks 50 years of resettlement after relocating the community due to the implementation of the Akosombo Hydro Electric Power Project which affected them in 1964.
The Krachi West District Assembly is on track to honouring the president’s directive to all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDA) to number all houses and name all streets in their various jurisdictions.
