Amenfi Central (Wassa Amenfi Central) District with its administrative capital MansoAmenfi was carved from Wassa Amenfi East and forms part of the new districts and municipalities created in the year 2012 and were inaugurated at their various locations simultaneously on the 28th June, 2012. The District forms part of twenty two (22) Metropolitan, Municipalities and Districts in the Western Region of Ghana. The District shares boundaries with its mother District Wassa Amenfi East to the north, to the south with Nzema East Municipal, to the west with Aowin District and to the east with Wassa Amenfi East District.
The Amenfi Central District Assembly has step up move to complete an ongoing modern primary school project for the people of Chira-Nkwanta, as the assembly yearns to improve teaching and learning in the area.
The Amenfi Central District Assembly is building a new Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Wassa Bekwai, a cocoa growing community to provide the people with access to quality healthcare.
