Hon. Captain Anthony R. Cudjoe (Rtd) Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan
Secondi –Takoradi Metropolitan forms part of twenty two (22) Metropolitan, Municipalities and Districts in the Western Region of Ghana. The Administrative Capital of the Metropolitan is Sekondi. This makes it the smallest, but easily the most highly developed. Indeed, it is the third largest metropolis in the whole of Ghana. Close to Takoradi Polytechnic, the Konsaworado flows towards the Buthia lagoon, creating an extensive, beautiful marshland. The Essei lagoon lies between Ekuase and Takoradi. It is located on the coast, about 200km west of Accra. The Metropolitan shares boundaries with Shama District to the east, to the north with Mpohor District, to thewest with Ahanta West District and to the south with Gulf of Guinea.
A three-member committee set up by the Western Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to investigate Captain Anthony Cudjoe (rtd), Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive, for misconduct has cleared him of any wrong doing, Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, the Regional Minister, said on Monday.
The Paramount Chief of Essikado Traditional Area in the Western Region, Nana Kobina Nketsia V, has observed that the challenges facing assemblies resulting in the slow pace of development is as a result of the lack of collaboration with the traditional councils.
