Kwahu East District forms part of the twenty six (26) Municipalities and Districts in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The Administrative capital of the District is Abetifi. The District shares boundaries with Kwahu South to the south to the north with the Afram River and some part of Asante Akim North, to the east with Afram Plains South and to the west with Asante Akim South.
After several months without a substantive District Chief Executive, the Kwahu East may soon have a new chief Executive following the appointment of Nana Antwi Siaw (aka Hayford Quaye) by President John Dramani Mahama.
A Fifty Thousand Ghana- motorized fiberglass boat to help transport emergency delivery cases in communities along the Afram River to the Kotoso Reproductive Health Centre, has been inaugurated at Hyewohoden in the Kwahu East District.
