Twifo/Heman/Lower Denkyira

Twifo/Heman/Lower Denkyira Districts Assembly with its Administrative  capital Hemang was carved from Twifo-Heman Lower Denkyira (now Twifo-Ati Mokwa) and forms part of the new districts and municipalities created in the year 2012 and were inaugurated at their various locations simultaneously on the 28th June, 2012. The President H.E. J.E.A Mills, by an Executive Instrument (E.I) created 46 new Districts. All the inaugurated and confirmed MMDAs established are operational with immediate effect hence bringing the total number of MMDAs to 216. The District is one of the Twenty (20) Metropolitan, Municipalities, and Districts in the Central Region of Ghana. The District shares Boundaries with Abura-Asebu-Kwamankesse District to the East, to the South With Cape Coast Metropolitan, to the West with Mpohor Wassa East and to the  North with Upper Denkyira East Municipal .

  • THLD:District to get electricity

    Communities in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District (THLD) would be hooked to the national electricity grid by the end of the year 2016, Mr. Francis Korankye-Sakyi, District Chief Executive of the assembly has announced.

    The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira Mr. Francis Korankye Sakyi and the District Director of Education, Mr. Manfred Barton Oduro went round the examinations centres in the district to see how the 2014 Basic Education Certificate Examinations were conducted.

    The Twifo Heman Lower Denkyira (THLD) District Assembly has as part of efforts to improve its educational infrastructure, awarded contract for the construction of a two separate 3-unit classroom blocks for Jukwaa and Pepekrom communities.

    The Twifo Himan Lower Denkyira District assembly has distributed 1,000 dual desks to some selected basic schools as part of improving educational infrastructure in the area.

  • TWIFO HEMAN:Assembly supports 21 disabled persons

    Mr Benjamin Armah, Co-ordinating Director of the Heman Lower Denkyira District Assembly, has appealed to beneficiaries of the Disability Common Fund, to use the money for the purpose it was given.
