The municipality is located within longitudes 1˚5W and 1˚39’ W and latitudes 7˚9’ N and 7˚36’N. It has a large land size of about 1,782.2sq.km. (690.781sq.miles) and is the fifth largest district in Ashanti region’s 30 districts.
Ejura is the administrative capital.It constitutes about 7.3% of the region’s total land area with about one third of its land area lying in the Afram Plains.
It is located in the Northern part of the Ashanti Region and is bounded in the north by Atebubu and Nkoranza districts (both in the Brong Ahafo region), on the west by Offinso district, on the East by Sekyere East district and the South by Sekyere West and Afigya Sekyere district.
The Ejura Sekyeredumase Municipal Assembly has demonstrated its commitment to bridging the infrastructure gap in the health sector with a bold step to constructing two additional health facilities in two communities in the municipality.
As part of measures to step up security patrols in the Ejura-Sekyedumase municipality, Nana Ejurahene, Barima Osei Hwedie II has presented a police vehicle, with registration GP4341 to the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Police Commander for effective operations.
Eighty-six (86) persons with various disabilities in the Ejura/Sekyedumase Municipality in the Ashanti Region were disbursed a total sum of twenty-three thousand Ghana cedis (GHs23,000.00) from the two percent share of the district assembly common fund allocated to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).
The Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection has registered about 500 aged people onto the National Health Insurance Scheme free of charge at Ejura in the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal of the Ashanti Region.
