The Bosomtwe District is one of the 30 created districts in the Ashanti Region, having been carved out of the former Ejisu-Juaben-Bosomtwe District. Bosomtwe District is located at the central portion of the Ashanti Region.
It lies within latitudes 6º 43’ North and longitudes 1º 46’ West. and it spreads over a land area of 718sqkm. The District is bounded on the North by Atwima Nwabiagya and Kumasi Metropolis and on the East by Ejisu- Juaben District. The southern section is bounded by Amansie West and East Districts. Kuntanase is the District Capital.
Eight projects in the health sector of the Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region have been initiated as part of measures to better serve the health needs of the people in the area.
A GH¢303,000.00 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre, with a facility for post office, being constructed at Kuntanase in the Bosomtwe District, would soon be ready.
Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a waste management company, is to establish a compost plant to produce organic manure for use by farmers at Adagya in the Bosomtwe District.
The Bosomtwe District Assembly has made available GHs60,000.00 in support of efforts aimed at helping people with disability in the area to become economically self-dependent.
