The Adansi South District is one of the 27 districts in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The district lies within latitude 40” North and 6 degress 22” North and longtitude 1 degree West and 1 degree 38 West. It is situated in the south-eastern part of the Ashanti Region. The District shares boundaries with the Central and Eastern regions to the south and east respectively, and with the Adansi North, Amansie East and Asante Akim South Districts of the Ashanti Region to the north-west, north-east and south-east respectively. The district capital is New Edubiase, which is about 92km south of Kumasi on the Kumasi – Cape Coast trunk road.
The Adansi South District Assembly has completed the construction of a modern primary school project for the people of Kubi Kwanto at a cost of GH¢170,000.
In a bid to improve the level of education in the area, the Adansi South District Assembly has completed major projects for two (2) senior high schools in the district.
The Atwiribuana Community in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region will from next month join the growing list of the beneficiaries of the school feeding program.
The District Chief Executive for Adansi South, Benjamin Anhwere has made a passionate appeal to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for the allocation of more schools to be constructed in the district.
The DCE for Adansi South in the Ashanti Region Benjamin Anhwere has admonished pupils and students in the area to avoid attending funerals and video shows since they are meant for the elderly and can be a major distraction to their academic progress.
