The Adansi North District covers a total land area of 828 square kilometres. The capital, Fomena, is endowed with the most productive mines in black Africa, the mainstay of Ashanti Goldfields, which is one of the world’s largest gold mining companies. The District shares its boundaries with Bekwai Municipal and Adansi South. Whilst the southern boundary of the District is what seperates the Ashanti and Central Regions.
District Chief Executive of Adansi North, Alhaji Abdul Latif Majdoud has told Joy News he suspects arson in the fire which gutted the Adansi North District Assembly office, destroying several items.
The whole town of Fomena was in high spirit when a newly completed health centre was handed over to health authorities to manage the facility in the Adansi North District.
