The Ga East Municipal Assembly is located at the northern part of Greater Accra Region. The Administrative capital of the District is Abokobi. The municipality forms part of sixteen (16) Metropolis, municipalities and Districts in the Greater Accra Region. The Municipality shares boundaries with Akuapim South Municipal to the North, Ga West Municipal to the West, Adentan Municipal to the South and La-Nkwantanang-Madina to the East.
Members of the Parliamentary Select Committee on the Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation on Thursday paid a working visit to the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC), to acquaint themselves with the Commission’s operations.
Some land developers at Kwabenya have appealed to the National Security and the Inspector General Police (IGP) to come to their aid and stop the activities of persons suspected to be land guards operating in the area.
After directives from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the closure of the landfill site at Pantang near Abokobi, the Ga East Municipal Assembly has assured of putting measures in place to mitigate the problems the site poses to residents in the area.
