The ledzokuku Krowor Municipal with its Administrative Capital at Nungua forms part of the sixteen(16) Metropolis Municipalities and Districts in the Greater Accra Region. The core mission of the Municipality is to ‘To improve livelihoods and provide adequate socioeconomic infrastructure in an equitable and sustainable manner for the people of the Municipality through effective stakeholder collaboration within a secure, decentralised system of governance and sound environmental management’. The Municipality shares boundaries with La Dade-Kotopon Municipal to the west, Tema Metropolitan to the east, to the north with Ashaiman municipal and to the South with the Gulf of Guinea .
The Municipal Chief Executive for Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA), Mr. Seth Badu Tawiah has said the assembly will soon demolish all identified illegal structures in the area to avoid imminent floods.
Much as I sympathize with people whose houses were flooded leading to loss of valuables running into thousands of Ghana cedis, I cannot but cast my mind back to few years ago when Daniel Amartey Mensah was the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly and what will be going through his mind.
Residents of Nungua in the Ledzokuku Krowor municipality have vowed to resist any attempt made by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), to install its newly introduced "street prepaid metres" in the community.
