The Saboba District is one of the 26 districts in the Northern Region. The district was carved out of the then East Dagomba District In 1988, in pursuance of the Government’s Decentralisation and Local Government Reform policy, with Saboba as the district capital.
It is located on the north-eastern corner of the Northern Region. The district is bounded by East Mamprusi District to the north, Zabzugu/Tatale District to the south and Gushiegu to the west. On the east, is the River Oti, which serves as the international boundary between Ghana and the Republic of Togo.A
