Items distributed were tricycles, chest freezers, fufu machines, containers, hair dryers, sewing and industrial machines, white canes, wheel chairs, shaving machines and some cash worth GHC 115,800.

About one hundred and twenty (120) persons with disabilities benefited from the distribution funded from the three percent of the assembly’s share of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) allocated to the PWDs.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the district Mr. Seth Ofosu Birikorang in his address said the distribution is a demonstration that the government and the assembly has not rejected them from the society.

He encouraged them to support each other and not look down on each other.

The Chairman of Persons with Disabilities in the District Mr. Daniel Osei Bonsu encouraged all beneficiaries to use the money very effectively to gain profit from the items given and also urged them to join the PWD association in the district so that they can form a united front.

He also calls on them to register with the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development in order to benefit from the next distribution of items.
