La Dadekotopon Municipal to embark on clean-up this weekend
The Municipal Chief Executive of La Dadekotopon, Solomon Kotey-Nikoi has served notice that as part of the ‘Clean La’ campaign this weekend 23rd of November 2019 the Assembly would embark on a cleanup exercise.

According to MCE this would be the first edition and after that there would be weekly community cleanup in La which would involve mainly the youth and invited the sanitation Minister to participate to serve as a booster.

He further revealed that the Municipal has made gains when it comes to sanitation issues but there is the need to consolidate the gains made as the Assembly is not relenting on confronting sanitation problems in the Municipality.

“We are doing that with the scares resources of the Assembly since I assumed office I have put in much effort to deal with sanitation problem”.



World toilet day was marked in La Municipality in his address the MCE noted that the celebration of the day in the Municipality is not spite but has to do with an earlier visit by the Minister to the Municipality.

In his address, he noted, thousand five hundred households have benefited from the provision of toilet in houses as a result of the building of institutional toilet as well as the effort of the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) Sanitation and water project.



“Seventeen public schools have benefited from the provision of toilets, I want attitudinal change as with the crusade to provide toilet we still have some people embarking on open defecation”.

He commended the Member of Parliament for the Municipality for his efforts to provide households with toilets.
