The festival is design to forge a united front among the indigenes for accelerated development in the area.

The ceremony, which was held at Kodie Methodist church, was on the theme: “Mobilizing Local Resources for Social Economic Development.”

The festival is further aimed at ensuring a more structured and formalized way to bring together all Kwabre West Citizens in the country and diaspora to facilitate the district growth.

The District Chief Executive of the area, Mr. Christian Adu-Poku used the occasion to highlight some government projects both implemented and underway in the District, which include TVET, Institution at Hemang, Court Building with Bungalow at kodie, 16 Unit Classroom Block at Buoho, while 15Acres land has been offered by the Chief of Atrama, Nana Boakye Yiadom Karikari for the construction of agenda 111 project.

He urged the indigenes not to depend always on the central government for the execution of projects in the area, hence the need to be united to fight for a common goal.

The special guest of Honour Nana Boakye Yam Ababio, Nkwantakese Hene said the District lacks behind in development projects and declared that it is time all and sundry take their destiny into their hands for a change.

He also bemoaned the situation where citizens in the diaspora could not trace back to their roots to contribute their quota to develop the District.

The Nkwantakese Hene believed with the District Assembly support, the purpose of the Mpetebie-Fua festival could be achieved.
