Prestea Huni-valley MCE Inspects Ongoing Projects
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Prestea Huni-valley, Mr. Mozart Kweku Owuh, has inspected on-going projects in his municipality. The move was to ascertain the state of development projects being supervised by the assembly.

At Awodua, the MCE inspected an ultra modern block, made up of 3 units tiled floor classroom, office for staff, furniture, kitchen, dining hall, store room, mechanized borehole with overhead stand and storage tank, water closet washrooms and white marker boards at Awodua M/A School.

Mr. Owuh indicated that, the facility is being constructed by the assembly as part of efforts to develop education in the area with funds from the minerals development fund (MDF).

He said the facility is completed and will soon be handed over to the school to help accommodate the increasing number of enrolment the school has seen.


Work was steadily ongoing on a 2 cell culvert at Yaw Mensahkrom when the MCE visited the site.
Mr. Owuh disclosed that, the previous wooden bridge that was constructed many years ago by the people of Yaw Mensahkrom was at the verge of collapsing and posed as death trap to residents and farmers in the area that is why the MP and Assembly saw it necessary to provide materials for the construction of the culvert.

The culvert also serves as bridge between the people of Yaw Mensahkrom, Insu-siding and nearby towns.


He expressed gratitude to the elders and youth of the area for assisting the MP and Assembly to construct the bridge by providing free labour and urged others to emulate the good example.

The MCE called for the needed support and cooperation for the MP, to enable her execute similar projects in other communities in the constituency.

He urged the community members to remain committed to one another, in order to foster peace for the development of the area.

He was accompanied by head of municipal works department, Mr. Scott, municipal works engineer Mr. Osei Antwi, assembly members and NPP constituency executives who were invited to see at first hand the progress of work.
