It will also use Geographic Positioning System (GPS) to capture the location of all structures and employ interactive area maps for accurate identification of enumeration and supervision areas.

In view of this, the Obuasi East District Assembly is organizing an eleven (11) day training workshop for census field Officers at Father Augustine Murphy Senior High School.

Addressing the trainees during orientation, the District Chief Executive for Obuasi East Honourable Faustina Amissah said this years' census is very important to the development of the country and particularly to Obuasi East District.

“Obuasi East District has a larger population than Obuasi Municipal but due to unavailability of data, our population now is not a true reflection of what is on the ground. Therefore this census will go a long way to bring development to the District and confer Municipal status to the District," she added

Speaking as a former enumerator, she emphasized that with the help of digitization this year's enumeration will be much easier than the previous decades.

Hon. Amissah appealed to the trainees not to prioritize the money they will get after the exercise but rather look out for the success of the national exercise.

The DCE led the trainees to take the Oath of Secrecy.
