The deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Elizabeth Agyemang, Kwasi Owusu Aduomi, deputy minister for roads and high ways and MP for Ejisu, Beatrice Serwaa Derkyi, MCE for Ejisu were part of the Vice president’s entourage at the palace.

The Vice President entreated Nana Afrane Okesse to pray for the president Nana Akuffo Addo for God’s guidance so that he can rule the country well and deliver on his promises.

The paramount chief for Ejisu, Nana Afrane Oguakro Okesse commended the Vice president’s efforts in the maintenance of peace in all Zongos in Ghana and the development agenda being implemented by the NPP government. He appealed to the government to fence the Ejisu Secondary Technical School and provide them with infrastructure to give the school benefiting status.

He stressed that people who originally are from the north but are born in Ejisu should see themselves as indigenes just as one sees himself an American when born there. Therefore they should see themselves as Akans and embrace peace and unity among themselves.

Ten crates of club beer and an undisclosed amount of money was donated to Nana and his elders as a token.

Dr Mahmud Bawumia then proceeded to Ejisu Zongo to fellowship with them during the ASR prayers. His message to them centred on the need for them to sanctify themselves during the Ramadan, promote peace and unity among themselves and that it is a month that prayers are answered by God.

He also reiterated that the NPP government would give a facelift to the Zongo communities in the country and that government will indeed honour its campaign promises to the people including the one district, one factory, import tax reduction, one village one dam, electricity tariff reduction, introduction of teacher and nursing training allowances, planting for food and jobs and the Zongo development fund.

Alhaji Kamaludeen Ibrahim, who spoke on behalf of the Zongo chief, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, appealed to the government to build Islamic S. H.T S. for them, give five slots for the 2019 Hajj and upgrade the Ejisu Arabic School located in the mosque. The vice president promised their request will be looked into.

He also donated 30bags of rice and GH? 20,000.00 to cater for their needs during the Ramadan.
