Kwahu East celebrates 62nd Independence Day
The District Chief Executive of Kwahu East, Isaac Agyapong joined residents of Kwahu East District to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of our nation’s independence at the Abetifi College of Education (ABETICOE) school Park.

The theme for this year's celebration is, "Celebrating Peace and Unity".

Mr. Isaac Agyapong, in his speech said it's imperative to take a look at the past, celebrate our success, correct our mistakes and move ahead with a united front to combat the challenges ahead.



Touching on the theme, he said it consolidates the success made in achieving peace and unity and emphasizing the fact that Ghana would continue to be a beacon of hope for Africa.

Mr Agyapong said “This is the day we justifiably celebrate the collective energies and sacrifices of our forebears that led to that joyous night, when our historic first leader, Kwame Nkrumah, uttered the immemorial words “Ghana, your beloved country, is free forever”. We will defend that freedom with the last drop of our blood, as we remain dedicated to its preservation.



The DCE expressed deep gratitude to all those working hard to promote and preserve our heritage and identity for generations unborn.

Mr Iassc Agyapong commended the organizers, teachers, participating schools and all dignitaries present for making the occasion a success one.
