The Mobile Clinic was made available by the Anglican Dioceses of Ho and Fredericton, Canada in partnership with Rotary International, Rotary Club of Ho and the Ho Teaching Hospital. They also donated a number of eye care equipment to the Ho Teaching Hospital as part of the event.

The Mobile Clinic entails a fit-for-purpose van, two tents for medical outreach and a 5KVA generator set.

In his brief address, Dr. Letsa extended his profound gratitude to the Rotary International, Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Fredericton, Canada, the Rotary Club of Ho and the Ho Teaching Hospital.

He commended Mr. Robert Griffin of Rotary Club of Grand Manan and a Member of the Anglican Diocese of Fredericton, Canada, for being instrumental in securing much funding for the Mobile Clinic and the Rotary Club of Ho for the many great contributions it had made towards the development of the Volta Region.

He acknowledged that the Commissioning of the Mobile Clinic is a feather in our cap as it is another step towards getting closer to the attainment of Universal Health Coverage in the Region, adding that the provision of the Mobile Clinic was a great support to Government as stated that “any intervention to complement the efforts of Government is very much appreciated.”

He entreated that the Mobile Clinic be used for its purpose and taken proper care of and seized the opportunity to entreat all to register under the National Health Insurance Scheme.

He finally expressed optimism about further collaboration towards improving the health conditions of the people of Ghana, especially the people of Volta and Oti Regions.
