Asokwa Municipal Assembly supports PWDs
The Asokwa Municipal Assembly has supported some 43 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from the Asokwa Branch of the Ghana Federation of Disabled Organizations (GFDO) in the Municipal.

Items such as sewing machines, deep freezers, bags of charcoal, flour, margarine, sugar, beans, metallic containers and cash were distributed to the beneficiaries to start a trade or begin businesses of their choice.

Speaking at a brief ceremony, Municipal Chief Executive for Asokwa Mr. Akwannuasa Gyimah tasked the Federation to ensure the beneficiaries use the items and funds for the intended purposes. ’I am tasking your federation as well as your individual associations to ensure items and monies given to these beneficiaries are used for the purposes they requested for from the Assembly’, he stressed.



Nana Mensah Bonsu, Chief of Kaase who chaired the programme commended the Assembly for the gesture and encouraged them to do more for the vulnerable.He then asked the beneficiaries to keep the items in good shape to ensure longevity.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa constituency Madam Patricia Appiagyei, asked the beneficiaries to be diligent in the work they use the items for and noted that the Akufo-Addo administration is concerned about the wellbeing of persons with disabilities as well as the vulnerable hence the increase in the rate of the common fund to PWDs in the country.
