Sanitation and Water Resources Minister visit GAMA for update on project
Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah visited the offices of the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) Sanitation and Water Project offices at Madina.

The Minister is to acquaint herself with progress and to discuss possible plans of extending the project to other areas.

Project Coordinator of GAMA, Ing. Aseidu will take the opportunity to update the Minister on the status of all components of the project, especially the current number of household toilets constructed.

GAMA project is to provide water and sanitation service to urban communities within the catchment area in Accra.

The five-year project being funded by the World Bank through the International Development Agency (IDA) grant would address acute sanitation and water challenges confronting the urban communities, particularly in the low income areas in the eleven Municipalities of GAMA.

The sector Minister use the opportunity to visit various offices under GAMA to interact with staff of the agency and got briefing from the coordinator on what they have been up to.

She commended the workers for reporting early and noted that they have not come to work early because they heard she will be coming, but are noted for reporting on time.
