AHAFO A S: 62 students receive scholarship for tertiary education

Some sixty-two (62) tertiary students in the Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly have received Government Scholarships worth seventy- five thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 75,000).

The District Chief Executive for the area, Patrick Adusei presented the award letters to the beneficiaries in a short ceremony at Mankronso

Mr. Patrick Adusei in his brief address applauded the Akufo Addo led New Patriotic Party government for the decentralization and the expansion of the government tertiary scholarship assistance to the MMDA's.

“It is because of the committed quest of the ruling NPP government to decentralized all government programs and policies, the government scholarship scheme had been decentralized to the MMDA level where the Assemblies received applications and after interviewing the over 150 applicants 62 tertiary students in this District will be awarded this scholarship for the Academic year today".

He observed that the move will go a long way to bring relief to parents who go extra miles to see their children in the tertiary education.

He continued to challenge all the beneficiaries to work hard since this is a high-level investment Ghana is making into their future and they must go out as good Ambassadors of the good deeds of Nana Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic.

One of the beneficiaries who will have her fees for the academic year fully taken care of by the Government in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com said this has brought great relief to her that it will help her have her peace of mind to study.
