The roads inspected include, Adjei-Kojo-Santoe road, Adjei-Kojo under bridge and the roads within the Adjei Kojo Township.

Interacting with some residents of these communities, Madam Adukwei Addo hinted that, the Assembly has allocated about GHC 250,000 for the rehabilitation of the 3-kilometer stretch of the Adjei-Kojo-Santoe roads which will be completed in two weeks’ time.

She stated that, government recognizes the importance of roads in facilitating socio-economic development; hence the introduction of the “Year of Roads” to improve the quality of life of citizens and enhance economic growth in the Municipality.

According to her, the roads within Adjei-Kojo are in very bad state, and have never seen any rehabilitation for some time now.

On his part, Mr. Emmanuel Wordey, the Roads Engineer for the Tema West Municipality, stated that the ongoing project would reduce the huge traffic along the under-bridge to Adjei-Kojo road.

According to him the under bridge will re-developed to allow water to run out of the tunnel in order to avoid flood.

He said the rehabilitation of the road will also help save time especially when it rains.

He therefore assured that, the Assembly will soon engage the Municipal guards to help control the traffic at the under bridge in order to reduce traffic congestion.
