Of the number 4552 were registered by BVR which is basically manual and 612 by VMS which is online.

According to Mr. Peter Gyedu the Registration Supervisor at the municipal office of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, only 23 of the people supported their registration with identity cards while the rest did so using guarantors.

He said three challenged registrations were recorded all on the suspicion that they were not up to eighteen.

According to Mr. Gyedu a review committee first sat on the challenged cases on Tuesday July 9, 2019 but had to postpone deliberations in order to make for further investigations.

On challenges encountered during the exercise, the Registration Supervisor said network failures virtually rendered the VMS machines unusable while shortage of registration forms also contributed to a slow pace of work.

He suggested that network issues would have to be properly sorted out and adequate forms provided in order to ensure successful exercises in future.
