Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality celebrates World Environment Day
The Municipal Chief Executive of the Prestea Huni-Valley, Mozart Kwaku Owuh and the staff of the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality have joined the Golden Star Bogoso Prestea limited to celebrate World Environment Day.

They were joined by students from Bogoso Methodist, Golden Star Basic School, Dumasi M/A Basic School, Prestea Secondary Technical School and Goldfields Basic School.

They planted trees within the township of Prestea, Bogoso Health center and the yard of the Golden star Bogoso Prestea limited. Several varieties of trees were planted among them was the royal palm which was planted around the Municipal assembly building.

The MCE thanked Golden star Bogoso Prestea Limited for spearheading such a programme and ensuring that adequate education on our environment is carried out within the Municipality.



He said the company is committed in ensuring that the last tree doesn’t die, adding, when the air is polluted we only breathe in toxic which will reduce our life span.

He advised the children to avoid activities that will pollute the environment and to also advise their parents and siblings to avoid activities that will pollute the environment.



The students were then taken through activities that pollute the environment by the team from Golden star Bogoso Prestea limited. Mr. Salim Ahmed Adam from Golden star urged the students to consciously educate their parents on how to manage plastic waist as everything bought today is placed in a plastic.



He also advised them to save energy and mostly use sunlight. Finally he advised them to avoid food wastage and cook the little they can consume. He said too much of food waste will mean that the farmer elsewhere must produce more.
