MP, DCE cut sod for construction of modern ward

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Atwima Nwabiagya North, Madam Rebecca Yeboah together with Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Benito Owusu-Bio has cut sod for construction work to begin on an ultra-modern ward for Asuofua Polyclinic.

The project is funded from the District's share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and is expected to be completed in 12 months.

The DCE during the sod cutting ceremony indicated that the project when completed will serve thousands of people by bringing health delivery services closer to them.


She particularly mentioned residents of Asuofua and its surrounding communities to be beneficiaries of the facility which will bring quality healthcare to their door step.

The Member of Parliament, on his part said it is the government’s vision to ensure that Ghana attains the Universal Health Coverage status by 2030 in accordance with the sustainable development goal (SDG) whereby all the people in the country shall get easy and reliable access to quality health care at modern medical facilities regardless of one’s location.


He revealed that the construction of the ward is aimed at expanding the health centre to enable it to serve the entire people.
