CORONAVIRUS: Ga East vaccination to start tomorrow
Information gathered by Ghanadistricts.com indicates that, all is set for the commencement of vaccination against the deadly coronavirus in the Ga East municipality of the Greater Accra region.

Vaccination against the virus is expected to start tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd to Monday 8th March, 2021, from 8am to 4pm each day at some selected centres across the Municipality.

These centres include Dome RCH, Dome community clinic, GAEC Hospital, Faith maternity and Ashongman Community Hospital.

The rest are Abokobi health centre, Ablor Adjei Assembly man’s house, Taifa poly-clinic, Kwabenya Community Hospital and Taifa Adjei Top Station.

It will be recalled that, Ghana on Wednesday February 24th, 2021 took delivery of its first consignment of 600,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from COVAX as part of efforts by the government to help combat the global pandemic.

The delivery came after President Nana Akufo-Addo, had earlier informed the nation about his government's planned nationwide vaccination exercise in one of his national addresses on measures taken against the spread of coronavirus.

The President, in his address explained that, the planned nationwide exercise forms part of efforts to curtail the spread of the deadly virus which has so far claimed the lives of many.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Health Service says over 84,023 People have so far contracted the virus since it was first discovered in the country in March, 2020.

According to information on its website about update of the coronavirus in the country, Ghana’s active cases currently stands at 5,444 after recording 409 new cases.

The death toll has also shot up to 607 as of today.
