Dr Sylvester Edah Dornyeavah, the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Keta Municipality said the assembly members and government appointees have to be united in order to bring development to the area.

According to him, no municipal or district can develop without unity among members.

Dr Tornyeavah who was at the forefront of developmental issues of the Keta Municipality under the administration of former President John Dramani Mahama said during his time, he proposed a lot of developmental projects which did not manifest.

He continued that, many Assemblymembers opposed some of his ideas with the mindset that it will not hold.

He continued that, some of the projects he proposed includes building the assembly's forecourt pavement, building a conference centre among others but were kicked down by the Assemblymembers.

"It would be better for Assembly members to be united with whichever person is the Municipal Chiefs Executive to achieve the goals of the assembly for the benefit of the general public," he stated.

He added, "the resources of the assembly belong to the citizenry and must be properly utilised."

He charged the Assembly members to put their parties agendas aside and champion the interest of the people in the area.

Dr Tornyeavah was addressing the issues of allegations levelled against nine officers of the Assembly of financial gross misconduct.

He also appealed to the chiefs, opinion leaders and the general public to come together and assist the assembly to attain greater goals since issues involving the municipality must not be left to one person or some group of people.

Dr Tornyeava explained that he will address a lot of issues concerning development if he is reappointed as the MCE to lead the assembly.

It would be recalled that the youth of Anloland demonstrated against some members of the Assembly and demanded an immediate investigation into their alleged involvement in some financial embezzlement.
