Started in the 70s, one would have expected to see major improvements over the years, but that eluded the people even though it is the major point of exchange of gods and services.

But now, the market is receiving major attention from the district assembly through its internally generated funds as one of the ways to improve upon their revenue.

Works on the pavement of the entire market is currently ongoing and about 70 percent complete while a new 40-seater toilet facility with urinal and bath is also nearing completion in the market.

The District Chief Executive, Adane Ankomah underscored the importance of the Sampa to the economic improvement of the people in the district, hence upgrade of facilities in the market remains a major priority to the Assembly.

The move he noted is in line with efforts to improve revenue to the assembly to boost their development agenda.
