The Electoral Commission scheduled the nationwide limited voters’ registration exercise to start from the June 17, to July 7, 2019 to allow persons who turned 18 years and others who had not registered previously to do so.

The MCE toured all the registration centres on the start of the exercise on June 17, 2019 and was satisfied with the smooth manner in which the exercise was going on. He also expressed delight at the presence of security personnel at the centres to ensure people abide by rules and regulations governing the exercise.

Though patronage was low on the first day subsequent days witnessed some improvement, and it is believed that more people eligible for registration would avail themselves to register.

Meanwhile, Mr. Avorgbedor has promised surprised daily visits to the various registration centres to ensure things move on well from start to finish.

He also appealed to Assembly Members, and elders to keep their eye on happenings at the centres and encourage qualified persons to take part.
