The USD 84 million three-tier interchange, which commenced this year after a colouful ground breaking ceremony, is expected to be completed in April 2020.

The project, which also includes a 5-kilometre Awoshie-Pokuase road, a 2-kilometre Accra-Nsawam Highway, a two-kilometre Kwabenya road, and a 10-kilometre local road is being jointly funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the Government of Ghana (GOG).

Work was seriously ongoing when Ghanadistricts.com visited the project site today.

The contractors, Zhongmei Engineering Group Limited, were busily seen excavating the Kwabenya-ACP part of the road to further expand it.

Emmanuel Frimpong reports that, the project had reached an advanced stage barely three months of its commencement.

He revealed that the Kwabenya-ACP road has developed deep potholes, a situation he said, poses danger to motorists who ply the road.

Some commuters who spoke in an interview, lauded the NPP-government for the project which they believe will enhance traffic flow in the area.

They however, complain about the unbearable dust emanating from the site and urged the constructors to do something about it.
