Kintampo Municipal Assembly out-doors Market Management Committee

The Kintampo Municipal Assembly, pursuant to its mandate of embolden social inclusion and participation in the management and governance process in the Municipality has reconstituted the Market Management Committee (MMC) of the Kintampo Market Complex.

Speaking at a brief ceremony to outdoor the committee, the Municipal Chief Executive for Kintampo North, Michael Sarkodie Baffoe acknowledged that, setting up this committee was long overdue and apologized for the late constitution of the committee.

The market is a major source of income for the Municipal Assembly, thus one should be privileged to be selected to serve the people of Kintampo on a committee that seeks to safeguard the market, he said.

The Municipal Chief Executive tasked members of the committee to work hard in conjunction with the Market Coordination while revering the membership of the committee which is chaired by the former District Chief Executive for Kintampo and a retired educationist Mr. J.K. Bomfeh.

Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe spelt out the functions of the Market Management Committee as defining procedures for ensuring.

1. Effective market operation.

2. Application of rental and store allocation policies

3. Revenue collection and recommendation to rental levels and daily feas.

4. Operation of market rules and regulations.

5. Dispute resolution procedures.

6. Effective traffic control and management.

7. Enforcement of environmental, public health and food safety.

8. Mechanism for meeting recurrent and periodic maintenance requirements and

9. Future improvement and expansion of facilities.

Mr. Bomfeh expressed his delight to chair the committee and promised to bring all his experience and expertise to bare. He also alluded the task was an involving and demanding one and will need the cooperation of all and sundry on and off the committee.
